OK so I forgot to post this with the Vienna photos. I have been looking forward to seeing this house for years; I'd done a bit of research and done a talk about it at Uni. But by the time I got there I was really put off because of some nasty comments a critic had made on the integrity of its design (he likened the designer's promotion of the house to homeless men selling bottles of horse piss as beer)and so I to was very critical of it. Hundertwasser House is named after the architect; it is a block of community flats in the outskirts of Vienna. Every little apartment is apparently different and every window has a different shape and frame, some appartments have balconies and some don't, some with a tree growing out of a window, some with a tree growing on the roof. It all looks very pretty, and I love the idea of plants growing out of a building, but I agree with the critic; the actual structure of Hunterwasser House is really nothing special.
