I don't know if the facade of this building is actually considered to be St Peters Basilica but that’s the dome behind it. It was really hot that day which was a complete shock after the freezing weather in Vienna, and we got to line up for 45 minutes to get into St Peters. There were Cardinals and monks and nuns everywhere you looked, which I was quite surprised about, they were mingling and talking with the tourists. The middle window is where the pope comes out on special occasions. He’d come out the day before and he sang, and apparently he was quite good!
